2015/2016 Stockli Laser AX

The AX doesn't just expect you to be rich, but also to know how to stand on an edge and bend a ski. But if you can afford it (artisanal Swiss skis don't come cheap) and tame it (it's one of the least forgiving in the category), it'll blow your hair back. It's the raciest ski among the winners. Built for precision performance on the hardest snow, it's solid, edgy and damp. Other skis might be more versatile, but testers gave this one their top Overall Impression score. Rogan: "A pure ripstick. Small sweet spot, though, so be ready."

NOTES: The Laser AX is the most all mountain-focused ski in Stockli's Racing series. All Mountain Rocker lifts the tip up and over powder and other varied conditions, designed to increase floatation and make turn initiation easier. It also lifts the underfoot section up and off the ground, intended for extra floatation when the ski needs it. Meanwhile, Tail Flex Control technology integrates rubber into the tail area of the ski, designed to reduce chatter and increase control. This is a ski for those who like to rip race turns, but not just in the race course.

The Racing series focuses on race and race-inspired skis intended for carving all over the mountain. Whether you're trying to keep up with Ted Ligety, trying to win your local beer league, or just trying to rip some turns, this series is one of Stockli's best for you.

Stockli, based in Wolhusen, Switzerland, was founded in 1935. Its U.S. headquarters are in Shelburne, Vermont.
